Generations were born dreaming of it, nations have risen & fallen aiming for it, and we will be FIRST in the world to own it! What is it you may ask?
A CISV HOUSE
With much skepticism about achieving this ‘farfetched’ dream, CISV Egypt is finally working on building and owning a “House”; the first & only CISV-owned House in the world.
Believe you me, second to building global friendship this will be our biggest accomplishment as an organization. For decades, we have perfected our tasks; all of you have been through it and felt it: activities, presentations, family orientations, special events, trainings, selections and — the grand finale – CAMPS, where we all have experienced & seen CISV goals fulfilled in the vicinity of a global village.
So imagine having ONE BIG House that would keep us all together where we would have all our activities local & international, as well as events we’ve been striving to maintain like Thursday Nights, & Carnivals. ONE BIG House we would be proud to call our own, that we could fill with our own planted trees among many other things. ONE BIG House that YOU would grow up in & your own children would grow up in too. ONE BIG House for many more generations to come and events we have yet to come up with. Imagine that!
Having the CISV house will be an opportunity for us to save enough money to be able as an organization to financially support many of our activities, such as manufacturing items, and sending subsidized less-privileged delegates to international programs, and supporting participants to attend international trainings and meetings. It will mean that money paid by CISV’ers for a mini-camp or any other event will be reduced since it will not be going to a venue but rather into the maintenance of our House & for other goals we aim to achieve as an organization. It will help empower our great volunteers to dream big, all the while having the means to accomplish their dreams. And of course it will mean that our organization can continue to expand and sustain itself, and that is our dream.
So how can this be achieved? Well, CISV Egypt has already received from the government 2 acres of land in 6th of October city, and a committee has been formed to fundraise for all the expenses needed to make this house a reality. It is a long journey but it has begun & will require support from everyone no matter how small it is. And as relentless as the waves smashing onto the shore of our beloved Sinai, & with much conviction & determination we have set out to accomplish our mission.
That said, we would like YOU to take a step back and consider what we could do if we accomplish this dream. This will come up over and over again, during events and informal talks and we would like to ask all of you to find the time during your day to think of what could be done. Together let us dream of the future of CISV.
